Infosys Planning to start office at Crystal IT Park

Two officials of the IT major Infosys visited Crystal IT Park at Khandwa Road, here on Tuesday. Both the officials were impressed with the design and location. Kaushik, associate vice president (commercial) was one of the team members. The team, which checked into the site at around 10.30 am inspected it for more than one hour. The officials will now put up the matter before the managing board of the company to take a further call on the issue.

The company has already been provided land measuring 130 acre at Super Corridor area on the outskirts of the city. But it will take nearly one and half years from now for the company to set up its unit there.

SEZ STATUS TO INFOSYS PROJECT IN INDORE

  Tata Consultancy Service Ltd's project in Indore was granted Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status by the union ministry of commerce on January 24, another IT major Infosys' project is likely to get the same status by the end of February or early March this year.

Sources said that non-availability of land was a major issue due to which Infosys could not apply for the SEZ status before January 24. Now that the land acquisition issues have been resolved and the company was going to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with state government on January 31, decks have been cleared for the IT major to enable it to get the special status.

"The next board of approval meeting for granting SEZ status will be held in February end or March first week and it is likely that Infosys will get SEZ status ", development commissioner, Madhya Pradesh, A K Rathore said.

The state government had approved the land allotment to the companies and the Cabinet decision was forwarded to the companies through e- mail along with a draft of MoU.These companies had returned the MoU with suggestions for changes which had been incorporated by the government.

 
 Infosys To Hire 13,000 For Indore Facility

Indore : 01- Feb -2012  Indore is developing as a major IT centre of the country with big IT players planning investment in the city. Infosys has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday where the IT major has agreed to invest Rs 6000 million in its proposed facility in the city.

The IT major eyes at creating over 13,000 jobs with this investment in Indore. The MoU was signed by Hari Ranjan Rao, secretary IT, government of Madhya Pradesh, and Chandraketu Jha, vice president, Infosys, in the presence of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of the state and Kailash Vijaywargiya, industries minister at the State Mantralaya, revealed the official source. Chouhan said that this MoU will encourage more investment in the state.

INFOSYS SIGNED MOU WITH MP GOVT.

MP government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IT major Infosys for starting its unit on 130 acres of land around Super Corridor in Indore. “The MoU will be signed with Infosys at a ceremony in Bhopal on January 31,” Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvergiya told DNA. “The land acquisition process will be completed soon as the state government is committed to clearing all hurdles for Infosys to come to Indore,” he added.

The state cabinet had cleared acquisition of 100 acres of land for Infosys near Super Corridor sometime back. Around 91 acres were acquired and registered in the name of Indore Development Authority (IDA) - the nodal agency. The remaining nine acres were registered on Saturday, a senior official said. The state government had recently asked the IDA to check the viability of an additional 30 acres of land for Infosys. The local body had confirmed that the land could be acquired for the IT major.

The IDA board had also cleared the proposal for transferring the land to IT department so that it could be handed over to the company on a conditional lease of Rs 20 lakh per acre.
